The Assembly is the House of the People of Laikipia County, An Assembly open to the citizens, an Assembly that is yours. This is where those elected by the people legislate, exercise oversight, make representation and debate questions of general interest. We invite you to come and visit your Assembly.

How can one Participate in the events of the County Assembly?

There are many ways on how the public can be engaged or get involved in the events of County Assembly, these include:

  1. Observe debates in the Plenary Session.
    You can observe plenary sessions from the public galleries of the Chamber. Unless the Speaker, for the convenience of the House otherwise directs, the House shall meet at 9.00 a.m. on Wednesday and at 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but more than one sitting may be directed during the same day.
  2. Attend a Committee meeting.
    You can observe committee discussions, kindly check on the committee scheduling on date and time of a committee sitting. If you wish to speak before a committee, authorization is required.
  3. Consult the County Assembly
    Students and researchers can conduct research in the County Assembly library
    Meetings with Members or with County Assembly staff or special study visits can also be arranged upon request. This can be organized from the office of Sergeant At Arms through the office of The Clerk
